Muhammad bin Bashar told us, Yahya bin Saeed told us, on the authority of Sufyan, on the authority of Habib bin Abi Thabit, on the authority of Tawus, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, said that he prayed during an eclipse, and he recited, then bowed, then recited, then bowed, then recited, then bowed three times, then prostrated two prostrations. And the other is like it. He said, in this chapter, on the authority of Ali, Aisha, Abdullah bin Amr, Al-Nu’man bin Bashir, and Al-Mughirah bin Shu’bah. And Abu Masoud, and Abu Bakra, and Samra, and Abu Musa Al-Ash’ari, and Ibn Masoud, and Asma’ bint Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, and Ibn Omar, and Qubaisa. Al-Hilali, Jabir bin Abdullah, Abd al-Rahman bin Samurah, and Ubayy bin Ka’b. Abu Issa said the hadith of Ibn Abbas is a hasan hadith. Sahih. It was narrated on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, that he prayed four rak’ahs in an eclipse in four prostrations. And about it he says Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. He said, “The people of knowledge differed regarding the recitation in the eclipse prayer, so some of the people of knowledge thought that it should be made easier.” By reciting it during the day. Some of them were of the opinion that reciting it out loud is similar to the Eid and Friday prayers, and Malik says: Ahmad and Ishaq are of the view that it is to be recited out loud. Al-Shafi’i said that it is not to be recited out loud. It was authenticated on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Both narrations were authenticated on his authority. He prayed four rak'ahs in four prostrations. It is also authentically reported from him that he prayed six rak'ahs in four prostrations. And this is According to the people of knowledge, it is permissible for the duration of the eclipse. If the eclipse is prolonged and he prays six rak’ahs in four prostrations, then it is permissible even if he prays four. Performing rak’ahs in four prostrations and prolonging the recitation is permissible. Our companions believe that the eclipse prayer should be performed in congregation during an eclipse. The sun and the moon...
