Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28269

Qutaibah narrated to us, he said, Al-Layth narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Shihab, on the authority of Sa’id bin Al-Musayyab, on the authority of Abu Hurairah, that the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, judged in Jenin. A woman from Banu Lahyan fell dead as a male or female slave, and then the woman who was judged by being caught by surprise died. So the Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, ruled that her inheritance is for her sons and her husband, and that her inheritance is upon her female relatives. Abu Issa said, and Yunus narrated this.
