Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29326

Ibn Abi Umar narrated to us, Sufyan bin Uyaynah narrated to us, on the authority of Ibn Jud’an, on the authority of Al-Hasan, on the authority of Imran bin Husayn, that the Prophet, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, when It was revealed: (O people, fear your Lord. Indeed, the earthquake of the Hour is a great thing) to his saying: (But the punishment of God Shadeed. He said: This was revealed to him while he was on a journey. He said, “Do you know what day that is?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” He said, “That is the day when God will say to Adam, ‘Send up the Fire.’ He said, ‘O Lord, and what did He send to the Fire?’ He said, ‘Nine hundred and ninety-nine to the Fire. And one to Paradise.” He said, “Then the Muslims began to weep, and the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, said, ‘Approach and retaliate, for it was not there. No prophecy at all, unless there was pre-Islamic times before it. He said, “Then the number is taken from the pre-Islamic period, and if it was fulfilled, otherwise it is complete with hypocrites.” And your example and the nations are only like a spot on the arm of an animal or like a mole on the side of a camel. Then he said, “I hope that you will be a quarter of the people of “Paradise.” So they said “Allahu Akbar.” Then he said, “I hope that you will be one-third of the people of Paradise.” So they said “Allahu Akbar.” Then he said, “I hope that you will be one-third of the people of Paradise.” So they said “Allahu Akbar.” Then he said, “I hope that you That you will be half of the people of Paradise.” Then they said “Allahu Akbar.” He said, “And I do not know whether he said two-thirds or not.” He said, “This is a good and authentic hadith.
