Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #29431

Ibn Abi Umar told us, Sufyan bin Uyaynah told us, on the authority of Salam, on the authority of Asim bin Abi Al-Najjoud, on the authority of Abu Wael, on the authority of a man, from Rabi’ah, who said I came to Medina and went to the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, and I mentioned to him a visiting visitor, so I said, “I seek refuge in God from being like him.” The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, said, “And the arrival of Aad is not.” He said, “I said, according to the expert, ‘I fell. When Aad was defeated, I sent for a few days. So he went down to Bakr bin Muawiyah and gave him wine to drink, and the two locusts made him sing. Then he went out, wanting mountains of Mahra, and he said, Oh God, I have not I will come to you for a sick person and I will heal him, or for a prisoner and I will redeem him. Give your servant something to drink as you used to give him to drink, and give Bakr ibn Muawiyah something to drink with him. He will thank him for wine. Who gave him drink, and clouds were raised for him, and it was said to him, “Choose one of them.” So he chose the black ones among them, and it was said to him, “Take them as ashes, do not scatter any of them.” He visited Uhud and mentioned that no wind was sent upon them except the amount of this ring, meaning the ring of a signet. Then he recited: (When We sent Upon them will be the sterile wind.
