Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27068

Abu Issa said a hadith Najiya, a hasan and authentic hadith. And this is to be acted upon according to the people of knowledge. They said regarding the guidance of tawtu’, if it is spoiled neither he nor anyone else will eat it. From The family of his companions, and he should be kept separate from himself while the people eat him, and that is sufficient. This is the opinion of Al-Shafi’i, Ahmad, and Ishaq. And they said: If he eats any of it, he will be fined in proportion to what he ate of it. Some of the people of knowledge said that if he eats any of the voluntary sacrifice, then the one who ate is liable. .
