Salama bin Shabib, Ishaq bin Mansour, Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Khallal, and more than one narrated to us. They said: Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, on the authority of Muammar, On the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Ubayd Allah bin Abdullah bin Utbah, on the authority of Ibn Abbas, on the authority of Omar bin Al-Khattab, he said that God sent Muhammad, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, in truth, and the Book was sent down to him, and in what was revealed to him was the verse of stoning. The Messenger of God, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him, was stoned, and we stoned after him, and I Fearing that a long period of time might pass over the people and someone would say, “We do not find stoning in the Book of God,” so they would go astray by neglecting an obligatory duty. God sent it down, saying that stoning is due on the one who commits adultery if he is married and proof is established or there is pregnancy or a confession. Abu Issa said. This is a hasan and authentic hadith that was narrated through more than one authority, on the authority of Omar, may God be pleased with him.
