Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28295

Hanad narrated to us, Abu Muawiyah narrated to us, he said, on the authority of Al-Amash, on the authority of Zayd bin Wahb, on the authority of Abdullah bin Masoud, he said, the Messenger of God narrated to us. May God’s prayers and peace be upon him, and He is the truthful and trustworthy. “Indeed, one of you gathers his creation in his mother’s womb for forty days, then he becomes a clot like Then it will be a lump of flesh like that, then God will send the angel to him and he will blow on it and he will be ordered to write down four things: his provision, his term, and his work. Whether he is miserable or happy, by Him there is no god but Him, one of you will do the work of the people of Paradise until there is nothing between him and it but an arm’s length. Then what is written will precede him and it will be sealed for him with the deeds of the people of Hell, and he will enter it. And indeed, one of you will do the deeds of the people of Hell until it is among him. And between it is only a cubit. Then the book will precede him and it will be sealed for him with the deeds of the people of Paradise, and he will enter it. Abu Issa said, and this A good and authentic hadith. Muhammad bin Bashar narrated to us, Yahya bin Saeed narrated to us, Al-Amash narrated to us, Zayd bin Wahb narrated to us, on the authority of Abdullah Ibn Masoud, he said, the Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, told us, and he mentioned something like it. This is a hasan and authentic hadith. Shu’bah and Al-Thawri narrated it. On the authority of Al-A’mash and something similar. Abu Issa said, and in the chapter on the authority of Abu Hurairah and Anas. And I heard Ahmad ibn Al-Hasan said: I heard Ahmad ibn Hanbal says, “I have not seen with my own eyes,” like Yahya bin Sa’id al-Qattan, and this is a good and authentic hadith. Shu'bah and Al-Thawri narrated something similar on the authority of Al-A'mash. Muhammad bin Al-Ala told us, Waki' told us, on the authority of Al-A'mash, on the authority of Zaid, and the like.
