Ali bin Hajar told us, Baqiyya bin Al-Walid told us, on the authority of Buhair bin Saad, on the authority of Khaled bin Ma’dan, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Amr Al-Sulami, on the authority of Al-Irbad bin Sariyah, said: The Messenger of God, may God bless him and grant him peace, preached to us one day after the morning prayer an eloquent sermon from which I fell asleep. The eyes were filled with fear, and a man said, “This is a farewell sermon. So what do you entrust to us, O Messenger of God?” He said, “I advise you to be pious.” God, and hearing, and obedience, and if a servant is an Ethiopian, then he is the one among you who lives to see much disagreement. Beware of new matters. It is a misguidance, so whoever of you realizes that should follow my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, the Mahdi, bite on it with your mohawks.” He said. Abu Issa, this is a good and authentic hadith. Thawr bin Yazid narrated, on the authority of Khalid bin Ma’dan, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman bin Amr. Al-Sulami, on the authority of Al-Irbad bin Sariyah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, something similar to this. Al-Hasan bin Ali Al-Khallal and more than one person narrated this to us. They said Abu Asim told us on the authority of Thawr ibn Yazid, on the authority of Khalid ibn Ma’dan, on the authority of Abd al-Rahman ibn Amr al-Sulami, on the authority of al-Irbad ibn Sariya on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, and Al-Irbad bin Sariya was nicknamed Abu Najih. This hadith was narrated on the authority of Hajr bin Hajar. On the authority of Irbad bin Sariyah, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, something similar.
