Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #27592

Al-Thaib is only to be stoned and not flogged. It was narrated on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, in There is no hadith in the story of Ma’iz and other than him that he ordered stoning and did not order that he be flogged before he was stoned. And this should be acted upon when Some scholars say this is the opinion of Sufyan al-Thawri, Ibn al-Mubarak, al-Shafi’i, and Ahmad.
