Jami' at-Tirmidhi — Hadith #28265

Saeed bin Abdul-Rahman Al-Makhzoumi, and more than one person, narrated to us. Abu Issa said, and in this chapter on the authority of Jabir and Abdullah bin Amr. This is a hasan and authentic hadith. It was narrated by Muammar and more than one person on the authority of Al-Zuhri is similar to this. Malik narrated on the authority of Al-Zuhri, on the authority of Ali bin Husayn, on the authority of Omar bin Uthman, on the authority of Usama bin Zayd, on the authority of the Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace. Some of them said that his Muslim heirs should not inherit it, and they used the hadith as evidence. The Prophet, may God bless him and grant him peace, “A Muslim does not inherit from an infidel.” This is the opinion of Al-Shafi’i.
